Campania VS Torbay area

We can notice that Campania and Torbay areas economies are very similar; in fact, both areas have an economy based mainly on state services (public admin, education, health).

Moreover, in both areas a sizeable proportion of population is employed in industry, and only a very little part works in agriculture.

Other indicators show the economic position in these places that can be their GDPs (domestic products); these are almost the same: on the one hand, in Campania, it is € 13’080 per head, in Torbay area, instead, it is £ 8’655 per head, about € 13'000, in other words they have the lowest GDP of their own countries.

As to unemployment, the situation in the two sites is, more or less, the same: the difference lies in the fact that while in Torbay area there are a lot of plants trying to sort these problems out, Campania’s local authorities seems not to react these serious problems, so that most young people prefer to find better job opportunities in richer areas.

In the end we can also highlight how in both places two of the main economic activities are manufacturing and the third sector services; in fact Campania and the Torbay area are wonderful sites to spend holidays and every year hundreds of thousands tourists enjoy themselves here or visit excavations in Pompei and Ercolano or do water sports in Torquay’s bay.
